| 意見 「この誤りが発覚するとただちに依代へと連絡されたが、それでも必然的に注意の散漫が生じ、片方のチームに数秒間の遅れが生じてしまった。」ということですが、いずれの陣営も同じ手掛かりへ同時に辿り着いており、双方の陣営で同様の影響を被っていました。一方の陣営に他方の陣営以上の影響を与えたと誰が言っているのでしょうか。手掛かりに間違いがなかったのであれば、どうして他方の陣営が先に暗号を解読できるというのでしょうか。「もしも」をもとに考えを進めることには危機感を覚えます。私にとってもレジスタンスにとっても、このような「もしも」のシナリオでポイントが与えられてしまうことは危険です。 意見 一方の陣営が他方の陣営よりも数秒間の遅れが出たことをどのようにして知り得たのでしょうか。これでは対立を調停することにはなり得ません。両陣営は同じ情報を保持していましたし、両陣営が同じ不利を被っていたのです。テザーハンドがここまでの偏重を示すとは思いも寄りませんでした。 |

テザーハンドも今回の判断がレジスタンス陣営のテッセラ・ハンター諸君から怒りを買うことは予想していた。だが、この誤りに対処することは思案され、結局のところ重大な決断をするに至った。テザーハンドの考えを挙げておこう。
「その『もしも』とは、暗号に人為的な誤りがなく双方の陣営が同じ適切な情報にもとづいて行動するという仮定にもとづくものであり、与えられた『手掛かり』には、適切な手順に導くものである信頼が約束される。だが、その「手掛かり」として誤った情報が与えれれば、今回の場合では次段階へ進むための文字数に誤りがあったわけだが、暗号解読者たちは誤った経路を辿ることとなり、前段階の再計算をすることとなる。レッドヘリングや手掛かりで諸君をあらぬ方向へ迂回させることもあるが、その迂回も最後には終着点へと導くものであるし、その迂回が近道となる場合もあり得る。だが、今回の誤りはそういったものではなく、訂正の連絡に遅延が生じたことでポイント差をなくすことが最善と判断したのである。
レジスタンスは優先的に配置する権利を得たし、それを通じて更に1ポイントを獲得している。このテッセラを獲得した栄誉は誰にも奪われるものではない。今回の問題に対処したことで、諸君のためにも今後の設計は精査していこう。このゲームを預かる身として、必要な責務である。諸君の率直なご意見と理解、あるいは理解し難いという選択の全てに感謝している。諸君の尽力に心から感謝するよ。」

Tesserae Round 7 Results _ Amendment
Even though the vessel was informed as soon as this error was realized, it still inevitably created a distraction that slowed one of the teams down by the seconds.Both teams had access to the same clues at the exact same time. If a mistake was made, it had the same impact on both factions. Who is to say that it impacted one faction more than the other? If no mistake in the hints was made, why would the other faction be the first to solve the puzzle?
It's scary to go down the 'what if' path.
To me, or rather to RES, it's a dangerous path to handle and award 'what if' scenarios in this way.

How do you know it slowed one team down by seconds and not the other? This isn't how we conduct completions. Both teams had the same information. Both teams were at the same disadvantage. I didn't think the TH was biased beforeTruthseeker

@HendrikTovenaar and @SilverSmurfer. The Tethered Hand had anticipated the decision would bring fury to the Resistance Tesserae-hunters. However they have been meaning to deal with this error for a while, and in the end decided to make the call. Here are their thoughts:The what if's are based on the assumption, which should be pursued, that the puzzles should be free of manual error, and both Factions are operating from the same correct intel. When a "hint" is given, it is trusted to lead one onto the correct path. Yet, when the hint gives the wrong information ( in this case, the wrong amount of letters required for the next step ) by accident, it takes the decoders on the wrong path, and recalculation of previous steps unintentionally. There are times when red-herrings or clues take you on a detour. Detours ultimately bring you to the end point, and one's detour may be another's short-cut. This error, however, is not the case, added the delays in communicating the correction, I have finally decided it is best to nullify the point difference.
The Resistance has gained the priority for Placement Prediction (hence 1 more point won) through focused efforts. Your trophy and title for retrieving this Tessera can't be taken away by anyone. I expect more scrutiny will come forth towards my future designs for you all after this has been addressed. As the hand behind this game, it is a necessary duty. Your candor and understanding, or choose to not understand, are all appreciated. Thank you for your endeavors.
