私がハンクにコンタクトしたのはこの頃のことであった。この時の彼は以前に私と会っていたことに気づいていなかった...だがその話はまた別の時に取っておこう。ハンクは私のイングレス調査をずっと見てきており、どうやら私が味方であると結論づけたようだ。それ故、私は失望させないようにとそれ以来努めてきた。だが私は透明性の観点から、我々の会話記録を共有する事を彼に告げた。つまりこの次の投稿がまさしくそれである。
そこにダンレイブン・プロジェクトへの言及がある。今すぐにそれが意味を持つものではないが、いずれ諸君が知るべきあらゆる事を伝えるべく投稿していくつもりだ。少なくとも私が現在知っている事については、すべてを。
ともかく、ハンクは自分について、そしてアズマティから聞いた事について私に語ってくれた。現在の彼はシミュラクラ...1331日の後に崩壊する、XMで作られた身であると。そしてハンクの時間は尽きようとしていた。その時が来るとハンクは新たなシミュラクラとして再生し、代わりに過去3年半の記憶をすべて失うことになる。その理由が完全にわかったわけではなかったが、ハンクがそれを信じているということは確信した。私にとってはそれで充分だ。
我々の会話記録にもある通り、何者かがハンクに21片のリカージョン・アーティファクトを送りつけた。アズマティによれば、それらはポータルが持つ重要な記憶を見ることができるもので、ハンクはリカージョン後にそれを取り戻すことができる。だがアーティファクトは、特定のポータルでアノマリーの間にのみ活性化が可能となる。折良くも、新たなアノマリーが発生していた。リカージョンと呼ばれる事になる、アノマリーが。ハンクはこれらのコインをアノマラス・ポータルに送り、過去3年半の彼の重要な記憶をポータル・ネットワークに拡散せねばならなかった。そのため彼は、私や世界中のイングレス・エージェント達の助けを必要としていたのだ。

The Life and Death of Hank Johnson - Part 6
It was around this time that I reached out to Hank. He didn't realize at the time that he and I had met before... but I'll save that story for another time. Hank had been keeping tabs on my Ingress investigation, and he'd come to the conclusion that I might be an ally. And since then I've tried not to disappoint. But I told him that, in the interest of transparency, I'd be sharing our correspondence on the record. So that's exactly what I'm doing, right after this post.
You'll see a reference in there to a Project Dunraven. That's not going to make a lot of sense to you right now, but I'm working on a post that will tell you everything you need to know about it. Well, at least, everything I currently know.
At any rate, Hank filled me in on what he was, what he'd learned from Azmati. That he was now a Simulacrum, a body made of XM that would break down after 1331 days. And Hank's time was running out. When it did, Hank would Recurse as a new Simulacrum, but he'd lose all of his memories of the past three and a half years. I'm still not entirely sure why that is, but I believed that Hank believed it, and that was enough for me.
As you'll see in our chat thread, someone had sent Hank the 21 Recursion Artifacts. According to Azmati, they could be used to see Portals with important memories, which Hank could then retrieve after he Recursed. But the Artifacts could only be activated at certain Portals during an Anomaly Event. Fortunately for him, there was a new Anomaly brewing, an Anomaly that we started calling Recursion. Hank needed to get those coins to the Anomalous Portals to seed the Portal network with his key memories from the past three and a half years. And he needed help from me and Ingress Agents around the world to do it.
