イングレスは私をどこへ導いてくれたでしょうか。

今日はイングレスがベルガモ渓谷でも特に美しく示唆に富む地、グレノダム遺跡へと導いてくれました。この遺跡には古くからの悲しい言い伝えがあります。このダムは渓谷全域の水力発電を目指して1910年代に建造されましたが、残念なことにその一部に欠陥があったことで満水から僅か40日後の1923年12月01日に決壊して下流域で暮らしていた人々を飲み込み、少なくとも356名の死者を出したのです。この逸話は自然に対して人類が如何に無力で、人の手で押さえ込むことはできないものだと、そして大いなる魅力を感じさせてくれました。何者の手も加えられていない自然に横たわる人工の構造物をその目で見ることで、改めて認識させてくれるのですからね。

このことがイングレスとどのように関係しているのでしょうか。まあ、今日の旅路はイタリアにおけるフェラゴストの祝日を共に過ごそうとエンライテンドの仲間たちによって企画されたものでした。確かにその地には2つのポータルが存在していてイングレスは素晴らしい切っ掛けとはなりましたが、それだけではなかったのです！

Today Ingress brought me in one of the most beautiful and suggestive place of Bergamo's valley: the Gleno Dam Ruins.
This place has a sad story from the past: the dam was built in the second decade of 20th century with the purpose of hydroelectric power production for the whole valley, but unfortunately a portion of the dam failed and burst just 40 days after its reservoir was full, on December 1, 1923, killing at least 356 people that lived under it.
This story makes me feel a sense of romantic impotence of humans against the force of nature, that can't be limited by human work, and gave to this place a great charm now, since you can observe human works beside the practically uncontaminated nature that has resumed what was right for it.

What does this have to do with Ingress? Well, today's trip was organized by enlightened friends to spend together the Italian public holiday of Ferragosto... and, despite the place having two portals, Ingress has been a great means but not an end!
