10月10日、アメリカ合衆国マサチューセッツ州ボストンおよびテキサス州ヒューストンにおいて新種のアノマリーが発生し、ミスティ・ハンナとユーリ・アラリック・ナガッサが観測された。そして、エージェントはアノマリー圏のターゲットポータル群を用いシャード群を確保していった。レジスタンスはヒューストンにおいてミスティ・ハンナのシャード群確保に成功し、エンライテンドはボストンにおいてユーリ・アラリック・ナガッサのシャード群確保に成功した。

10月24日、それと同系統のアノマリーがロンドンとチューリッヒで発生すると予測されている。分析結果はキャリー・キャンベルのシャード群がロンドンに顕現し、エノク・ダルビーのシャード群がチューリッヒに顕現することを示唆している。

キャリー・キャンベルとエノク・ダルビーはナイアンティック計画への参加以前から関わりがあった。ナイアンティック計画創設者エゼキエル・カルビンは彼らの関係性を「相乗的共感覚」と評していた。具体例を挙げるならば、キャンベルにはダルビーの楽曲からダルビーにも自覚のない秘められた情報を気づくことができた。

ナイアンティック計画において、キャンベルとダルビーの二人はエキゾチックマターへの高い感応を示し、傑出した創作へとつながっていった。キャンベルはシェイパーグリフが精神プログラミングを形成する普遍的な言語体系であると突き止める上で記号学者として重要な役割を果たした。ナイアンティック計画が幕を下ろしたのち、彼女は文明の自壊を促す可能性を秘めたグリフメッセージの存在に気づいた。そしてオペレーション・カサンドラの折、彼女は自らの命を代償としてその顕在化を未然に防ごうとした。彼女の試みは功を奏し、以後彼女は死亡したものと考えられてきた。

ダルビーはナイアンティック計画ののちも http://soundcloud.com/enoch-dalby で幾多の楽曲を生み出し、それは証人アノマリーの折に起きた事件まで続いていた。

事件背景
アンチマグナスの指導者ヤーハンは、証人アノマリーの折にアフガニスタンで大規模なエキゾチックマター爆発を引き起こした。幻影を生み出す力を備える古の地においてそのテクノロジーの支配権を得ようとしたのだ。爆発と時を同じくして、数多くのナイアンティック計画研究者たちが姿を消した。その後、ポータルネットワーク内に散在するエネルギーパターンの存在が突き止められており、それらのエネルギーパターンは姿を消したナイアンティック計画研究者たちとの相関も認められた。以後、幾つかのエネルギーパターンはポータルネットワーク上にシャード群として顕現している。

ここ数ヶ月の間に、残された研究者たちのエネルギーパターンは増幅していき、遂に出現するに至ろうとしている。研究者たちの命運はアバドン・アノマリーを通じて決せられるのかもしれない。

研究者たちは何故姿を消したのだろうか。アバドン・アノマリーは研究者たちとどのような関わりがあるのだろうか。その謎の答えが明らかとなるに違いない。わかっているのは、10名のナイアンティック計画研究者たちの命運は、未だどうなるのか分からないということだ。

アノマリー構造概要
添付した画像は、各予想出現地域を示している。

各地で4時間かけて48片が4段階で出現していくだろう。これらのシャード群は出現後にレベル7以上のリンクに沿って15分間ごとに移動していく。加えて、エンライテンドおよびレジスタンス双方の4つの特別なターゲットポータルが出現するだろう。アノマリー終了時までにターゲットポータルへ辿り着いたシャードはその陣営の手中に収まることだろう。

全てのシャード出現ポータルおよびターゲットポータルの一覧は暗号化された状態でアノマリー発生前に公開され、アノマリー終了後に復号鍵が公開されることになる。

仮に、アノマリー終了時刻に双方譲らぬ互角の接戦であった場合には、毎時20分過ぎと毎時50分過ぎに更なるシャード群とターゲットポータル群、あるいはその何れかが顕現していく。均衡の崩れた最初のシャードムーブメントにおいてアノマリーは終了する。このような状況を「サドンデス方式」と評する分析担当者もいる。このような状況に陥る際には、事前に暗号も確認できることだろう。

シャード挙動パターン

シャードおよびターゲットポータルは、いずれもアノマリー・インパクトゾーン内に現出する。ただし、シャードに関してはポータルのリンクを通じてアノマリー圏内外へ運搬することが可能である。ターゲットポータルは、ひとたび現出すればアノマリー発生期間中は動くことはない。

シャードは、二度連続（2シャードムーブメント）してリンクを通じた運搬に失敗した場合には、次の移動時期に有効リンクが存在せずとも近隣ポータルへランダムに転移される可能性がある。

シャードは、ポータルリンク群のいずれかを運搬でき、ムーブメント期間ごとにひとつのリンクを通じて運搬される。ただし、従前のムーブメント期間に存在したリンクを通じて移動することはない。複数のシャードと複数のリンクが同一のポータル上に存在する場合、各シャードは異なるリンクを通じて運搬される可能性がある。

シャード群は極めて高エネルギー状態にあることから、相当数のシャード群を2シャードムーブメント期間を超えて移動を阻害したフィールドは急激に不安定化する可能性がある。

シャードの運搬が不正行為にもとづくものと判明した場合、国家情報局オペレーターは従前の場所へとシャードを戻す可能性がある。

シャードとは、ナイアンティック計画研究者の断片化された記憶とアイデンティティである。より多くのシャード群を確保したファクションが研究者への影響力を得る事となる。アバドン・アノマリーの命運は、研究者たちの制御にかかっている。

TOP LINE INTEL

On October 10th, a new class of XM Anomalies impacted the sites of Boston, MA and Houston, TX in the United States. Shards containing the memories and identities of Misty Hannah and Yuri Alaric Nagassa were observed, and Agens gained control of these Shards using Target Portals within the Anomaly Zones. The Resistance were able to capture the Shards of Misty Hannah in Houston. The Enlightened were able to capture the Shards of Yuri Alaric Nagassa in Boston. 

On October 24th, Anomalies of this nature are expected to impact London and Zurich. Analysis suggests that the Shards of Carrie Campbell will manifest in London, and the Shards of Enoch Dalby will manifest in Zurich.

Carrie Campbell and Enoch Dalby had a relationship prior to joining Niantic. Ezekiel Calvin, who founded the Niantic Project, described their connection as 'synergistic and synesthetic,' specifically, it seemed that Campbell was able to discover didden information contained within Dalby's music -- information that he was not aware of.

While at Niantc, both Campbell and Dalby displayed high XM sensitivity, leading to greatly enhanced creative output. Campbell (a semiotician) was cucial in uncovering the first Shaper Glyphs, the graphemes of a universal language system that may be a form of mind-programming. After the Project was shuttered, she learned of presence of a Glyph message that could potentially cause a civilization to self-terminate. During Operation Cassandra, she sacrificed her own life in an atempt to prevent its onset. She succeeded, and has been presumed dead since.

Dalby continued to produce music after Niantic, releasing a number of tracks online at http://soundcloud.com/enoch-dalby until his disappearance during the events of Shonin.

BACKGROUND

The Anti-Magnus leader, Jahan, caused a massive XM eruption in Afghanistan during Shonin. She was attempting to take control of the technology in an ancient site capable of creating and sustaining XM Simulacra. At the exact same moment as this XM eruption, a number of Niantic Project researchers disappeared. They were subsequently found scattered as energy patterns within the Portal Network. Other energy patterns that seem to correlate to deceased members of the Niantic Project research team were also observed. Since then, a number of these petterns have emerged as XM Shards within the Portal Network.

In the past months, the patterns of the remaining researchers have grown in strength. They are now emerging, and  their fate will be detemined during the #Abaddon Anomaly series.

Why did these researchers disappear? What is #Abaddon and how are they all connected? These are the questions that must be answered. All that is known is that the fates of ten researchers central to the mystery of the Niantic project lie in the balance.

OVERALL ANOMALY STRUCTURE

Attached images show the expected Impact Zones for each site.

At each site, 48 Shards will emerge in four phases over the course of hour hours. These Shards, once manifested, will have the potential to travel between Linked Portals at Level 7 or higher approximately every 15 minutes. In addition, 4 special Target Portals will Manifest for both the Enlightened and Resistance. A Shard that reaches a Target Portals will be captured by its Faction until the Anomaly ends.

A cryptographically secure list of all Shard and Target manifestation Portals will be revealed prior to the beginning of the Anomaly. The decryption key will be revealed after the Anomaly concludes.

If, at the conclusion of the Anomaly window, the struggle for control of the Shards is in a state of dead heat, more Shards and/or targets will manifest at the 20-minute and 50-minute mark after the hour. At the first Shard Movement where the state of dead heat no longer exists, the Anomaly will come to an end. Some analysts have referred to this scenario as 'sudden-death overtime'. These manifestations will also be cryptographically verified prior to their onset.

 SHARD BEHAVIOR PATTERNS

Both the Shards the Target Portals will manifest within the identified Anomaly Impact Zones, however, Shards will be able to trasit along Links to Portals both inside and outside the Anomaly Zone. Target Portals, once manifested, will not move for the duration of the Anomaly.

In the event that a Shard fails to travel along a connected Link twice consecutively (i.e. 2 Shard Movements), it may randomly teleport to a nearby Portal at the following Movement window if no viable Link is present.

The XM Shards will be able to travel along any combination of Portal Links, travelling along one Link per Movement window, however, a Shard will not travel using a Link to the Portal it was present on at the previous Movement window.If multiple Shards and multiple Links are present on a single Portal, each Shard may travel along a different Link.

Due to the extremely high energy state of the XM Shards, overhead Fields that inhibit the movement of a significant number of Shards for more than two Shard Movement windows may suddenly destablize.

If a Shard movement is found to have been the result of actions a rogue Agent, NIA operators may cause that XM Shard to returen to a previous known location.

The Shards represent the fragmented memories and identities of Niantic Project Researchers. Capturing a greater number of Shards will allow a Faction to gain influence over the Researcher. The fate of the Abaddon Anomalies, as a whole rests on controlling these Researchers.
