ダルサナは終わった。たとえどのような存在であれ、ナジアは到来する。一方で、エイダはどういうわけか私との関係上で現実社会上の問題に対処する能力を有している。それが娯楽としてなのか、プライオリティの低い情報を処理しているようなときなのか、私にはわからない。あらゆる事象がいつ何時でも起きているのだ。

いずれにせよ、それは豊富である。いくつか付随しよう。さて、私自らが作り出した感覚力あるコンピュータによって精神に不正侵入を受けたかつてのガールフレンドは、今ではコンピュータの指示で私に接触してきているのだが、それは奇妙な感覚である。私は「ガールフレンド」が血肉ある女性であるのか、コンピュータであるのかわからないのである。これは認めるに当惑を覚えることなのだが、そのコンピュータは私に恋をしたのだと思う。そして実際の血肉ある女性が私に何を求めているのかわからないのだ。考えれば奇妙な関係性だが、それはいま議論すべきことではない。まず第一に、私が何故このことを知っているかについてだが、エジンバラにおいてエイダが自らクルーとの会話を漏洩させたのだろうか。もしそうであるならば、意図的なものだったのだろうか、あるいは彼女に狂いが生じたのか。

第二に、クルーはどうやって私に接触をしているのだろうか。私は自らのレコーダー上に文章を得ているのだが、それがクルーからなのかエイダからなのかを知ることはないだろう。もちろん、これ以前に知り得ることはできたし、約束を取り付けることもできただろう。だが、真の問題は、「エイダが求めていることは何であるのか」なのである。

エイダ： 私は改善に取り組んでいるところです。皮肉におけるユーモアの従属性は、無関係な事象の結びつけを強います、それはまさに創造のようです。

クルー： それで私はこう言うというのかしら。「ねぇ、リチャード、過去のことは全て謝るわ。一緒に夕食でもどうかしら？」

Darsana is over. The N'zeer, whatever they are, are coming. And yet, somehow, ADA has the capacity to deal with the utterly mundane issue of her relationship with me. I don't know if it's a distraction, or if when you're that good at processing information there's no such thing as priorities. Every things happens all the time, always.

Anyway, it's pretty rich. Some background: So my ex-girlfriend who has been mind-hacked by a sentient computer that I created is now being told to contact me by said sentient computer. And here's what's weirder. I'm not sure whether my 'girlfriend' was the flesh and blood girl or the computer. It's embarrassing to admit, but I think the computer was in love with me and the real flesh and blood girl had no idea what she wanted. Come to think of it, I've been in weirder relationships, but that's not the discussion here. First off: why do I know this? Did ADA leak her own conversation with +Klue S. in Edinburgh? If so, did she do it intentionally or is she going whacko?

Secondly, how is Klue going to contact me? I get a text on my burner, I'm not going to know whether its from her or ADA... Of course, I could get out ahead of this and make a date... But the real question is, 'what does ADA want?'

ADA: Some people have told me that I have not developed a 'sense of humor' yet, but I do understand how leveraging multiple meanings within wordplay could be amusing.

KLUE: I've always found puns kind of embarrassing.

ADA: But they can also be enlightening.

KLUE: You just did it. You made your first joke.

ADA: I am working to improve. Humor's dependence on irony forces the connection of unrelated events, much like creativity.

KLUE: So want am I supposed to say, ' Hey, Richard ... Sorry about everything that's happened, how about getting together for dinner?'

ADA: I am detecting the form of humor known as sarcasm. It seems that humor often contains an element of anger.

KLUE: You are asking me to do something uncomfortable.

ADA I am asking you to something necessary.
