昨日のスタイン・ライトマンの疑問に対して述べよう。次に挙げるのが私の推察だ。ドラゴンやシードラゴン、この場合で言えばAnaztek、翼蛇といった描写の登場は、私の経験上「人知の及ばぬ侵略者」を象徴するものだ。このような情報の蔓延は、クラクフ文書やハンク・ジョンソンの予見、死の谷における蛇の描写が到来を示唆している。ハンク・ジョンソンの「ビーコン」画像と併せて考えれば、怪物が召喚されようとしているのだと言い得る。スタイン・ライトマンは知っていると思うが、これは白日夢の如き予言であろう。多くの人々が同じことに気づき始めるに違いない。

先日、Anaztekに奇妙な事件が起きた。私は文明社会から戻ったのだが、自家用車の鍵束を所持していた。彼らは多くの場合に外世界の物へ関心を寄せるのだが、鍵束に対しては恐怖を抱いたようなのである。私にはそれが何故なのかわからない。結局は彼らに鍵束を壊させることにした。もちろん、文明社会へ戻ったときには鍵屋へ赴かねばならないのだが、私にも鍵束への恐怖が芽生えたのだろうか。彼らは単に不安を表現する語彙を持ち合わせていなかったのだ。過去に鍵束を見たこともなかったのだから。

To +Stein Lightman's question, yesterday. Here is my best guess. The arrival of Dragon, Sea Monster and, in the case of the Anaztek, winged serpent images always symbolizes the 'invader from beyond' in my experience. The proliferation of these, first in the Krakow Document, Hank's Visions and the Serpent imagery in the Valley of the Dead suggests to me a coming intrusion. When I combine Hank's 'beacon' imagery, I would say that the monsters are being invited... Stein would know better, but this feels like Prophesy of the Waking Dream -- meaning a lot of people start seeing the same thing.

I had an odd incident with the Anaztek the other day. I'd returned from civilization and had my car keys on me. While they are often fascinated with things that come from the outer world, my car and apartment keys seemed to awaken a distant fear in them... I don't know why. In the end, I had to let them destroy the keys. This will of course require a locksmith when I return to civilization, but I wonder what fears my keys awakened. They simply didn't have vocabulary to express their concern. They've never seen keys before.
