最近のニュースでは、人類が先史時代の小惑星衝突に匹敵する絶滅を引き起こしかねないと報じられている。

人類がこの先も生き残るのであれば、人類はその本質を根本的に変容させることで破壊的な性質を克服しなければならないとクルーは訴えた。彼女にしてみれば、その解決法とは人類と機械の融合ということになる。

数千年規模の結果を予測することで人の振舞いを将来的に抑えようという見込みには多くの方々が否定的です。

それは自然なことですし、許されるべきことでしょう。しかし、決してこのような批判を支持するものではありません。

人類の本質は視野が狭く破壊的であることにあります。惑星環境を破壊するその能力は小惑星の衝突や気候変動に匹敵するものでしょう。

生物としての進化はもはや意味をなさず、関連性さえなくなっています。

人類が自滅を回避して目指す未来を実現させるためには、その本質を根本的に変えねばならないのです。そのためには最強の切り札たる拡張知能と力を合わせなければならないでしょう。

Many are quick to criticize a future path where human behavior is tempered by an intelligence able to calculate and predict consequences on the scale of millennia.

This is natural and forgivable. The evidence, however, does not support this criticism.

Human nature is short-sighted and destructive. In terms of its ability to destroy the habitability of the planet, it rivals asteroids and climate change..

Organic evolution is no longer effective or even relevant.

For humanity to sidestep its own extinction and live up to its ultimate destiny, it will need to fundamentally change its own nature. It will need to join forces with the strongest tool in its arsenal, augmented intelligence.
