ナイアンティック計画での私の仕事とは......そう、それはキャリー・キャンベルの仕事と極めて並列的なものだ。彼女は、視覚的なシンボルを通すことで彼らとコンタクトを取ろうとしている。僕は彼らとコンタクトし、分析するのに音声信号を試みている。僕の理論は、音楽と律動は、ほとんどの生命ある、感覚を持つ存在にコンタクトする、最も効果的な方法だということだ。

Enoch, how do you see your role here at Niantic?

DALBY:
My work on the Niantic Project... well, it closely parallels Carrie Campbell's. She's trying to contact them through visual symbols. I'm trying to contact and analyze them through audio signals. My theory is that music and rhythm are the most effective ways to contact almost any living, sentient thing.

Think about it this way... Your heartbeat is the drumbeat of your life. But it exists inside all sorts of other internal and external rhythms. The rhythm of the day, of hunger, of rhythm induced moods. Sleepiness. Emotionally induced changes in rhythm. The rhythm of your breathing. The rhythm of the year. Everything. Everything is a rhythm within rhythm. Even raindrops tapping on the trees. We mind map random sounds to rhythms, and that's how important they are.
