Human nature is quite interesting... Why a group of people would put themselves in risk just to save someone they barely know?
Let alone deluding themselves into believing that they could do it without being discovered... Or without walking straight into a trap carefully planned for them...?
I guess it is just an example of how emotions can impare our judgement.
How can our own pre-conceived notions and our previous experience blind us from the obviousness of it all...? Truly magnificent creatures we, humans, are...

Hello Omega... It seems you've taken a liking to the render I did...

There was no delusion that we wouldn't be discovered. That was a fact, we would be... it was just a matter of when. Emotions are strange things that guide us blindly at times and make us test the impossible....
2018/05/13 09:56:46
I think over time a connection was made and the call for help was something I couldn't ignore... Something you all knew if you have seen the many times this was attempted.

Oh! You missed the most important point about the delusion.
But yes. It was a commendable effort. I'm pretty impressed.

Would you care to enlighten me? I would be interested in knowing what trap I've put myself in....

Omega TS-Morpheus
2018/05/13 10:34:23
And again, completely missing the point, cutie pie!! Opening the opportunity for a trap and the total lack of consideration of the fact that it was possible and, what's more, the claming of success without the slightest evidence of having done so is what's interesting to me. Whether you were truly trapped or not is beyond my knowledge, for now at least.

YOU, clever girl, do have my admiration and I DO hope you are allowed to continue unharmed... It would be a total waste of good resources otherwise.

I never claimed to have succeeded, though I have seen the messages left by others.. I would definitely prefer to come out of this unharmed but have an understanding that every action has a reaction and consequence whether we like it or not.

Omega TS-Morpheus
2018/05/13 10:47:22
Exactly... YOU didn't. And that's why YOU are a great asset. What happens to such called others is not of my concern.

And I'm liking that display of cause and effect logic now. Well done!
You see? We do think clearer and more proficiently when emotions have cool down a little bit. I'm so honestly proud of you.

You've engaged in an interesting conversation with me that has reminded me where this all started. It allowed me to take a step away from my emotions to look at the information at hand differently.

I'd be an idiot if I thought that only good things would come from our actions. That is unrealistic, especially with the nature of the actions we took.

I would not seem inappropriate or out of place, but all this need for analytical reasoning punches with the profound meaning of being enlightened.

Should the higher moral value not be the one that leads to a higher good, to a deeper knowledge, of oneself and of others?

So acting for the next - even if you do not know it - should be the cornerstone of considering yourself "enlightened".
But, surely, I have not fully understood how fascinating it can be to regard the human species as ants inside a shrine to be observed.

Omega TS-Morpheus
2018/05/14 01:55:25
But what makes you think I am Enlightened?
+Daeniem Loidlan
2018/05/14 02:02:40
I do not consider humans to be ants. Again, what makes you believe so?
Humanity has always analysed it's surrounding natural phenomena in order to understand it and learn from it. After millennia, we finally understood we were another natural phenomena to observe, and what a complex... and interesting one we are!
What better way to finally recognise ourselves as worthy than finally turning the lens towards us?
And that being so, could you elaborate further so as to what makes you think I'm enlightened? The higher resoning capacity of our brain is astonishing even when the resulting deduction coming from it is mistaken.

i need some time to give you an answer. Just let me take some of it.

Omega TS-Morpheus

Take all the time you require. I'm glad you are taking your answer seriously.

Daeniem Loidlan

I thought a lot about the kind of answer to propose. Today, this thought has supplanted even some of the resources I should have put into my work.
But it does not matter.
I think it was still time well spent.

Allow me to resume the principle. I will reply, again, to the first question you asked, reconstructing my thinking from the base, and then proceeding further.

Forgive me, right away, for the language errors you will find below. The language barrier has always been something that has held me back when I speak English.

Given this, let's proceed.
Because it is the most intimate nature of human sociality. We are a species that proliferates and advances only through mutual support and help.

Now we have reached the point of being so large, so evolved, so sure, that we have forgotten what it took to crawl out of the mud, raising us above everything else created. Yet, without a group, and the help of a group, sometimes disinterested, perisculous, even suicidal, we could not get there.
It is not emotions that drive this path.
It is a biological necessity that, unfortunately, has changed into aberrant solitude nowadays. The security of believing that we can proceed even alone.

The illusion of control.
Which, unfortunately, is and remains only a dream. An ephemeral image that we want - we want - to be real.

The first answer I proposed, concerning the work of an enlightened morality, wanted to be a point of view related only to morality. And not to the gaming faction.
In fact, for some time now, I consider myself as foreign as possible to factional policies; I play to be an investigator, to follow the plots behind Ingress's story, above. And I do not want to seem self-centered or vainglorious.
I entered Operation: Essex because I'm really gray.

With regard to learning from our mistakes, I can only agree with you: learning by trial and error is the most important momentum in evolution - personal, at least.

This does not mean that, personally, I think the analysis of human behavior by placing itself above their peers, as if they were no longer part of it, something far too similar to entomological studies. And, from here, the consideration that humans are not ants.

Surely there is a fund of good in understanding and understanding why hidden behind the action - even human. This does not mean that to get to discoveries - even substantial - passing without any empathy through the exploitation of human guinea pigs (because in fact, if the Remote Intrusion was a trap, or a test, then those who took part is a guinea pig) it nullifies every effort of knowledge, placing the researcher on the same moral level as the torturer.

Please +Omega TS-Morpheus provide me - if possible - with what you intended to demonstrate with your study, experiment, or trap.
Or what you've seen happen is just the preamble for a more prolonged and lasting observation?

I apologize for my late response. As you may already know, things are not exactly easy, nor quiet in our facility at this moment.

First allow me to congratulate you on your choice of being grey. As the situation stands, choosing factions now is just choosing which master to serve. Humans should never volunteer themselves to be puppets.

I love the way you exposed the evolutionary theory of the survival of the pack. Yes, human is a gregarious animal. But you/they were putting in danger your own pack to save an unknown one. Instances of that are indeed hard to find in history and, as such, very interesting for an observer like I.

As for your question about the trap, I'm afraid I can't answer it for it is not my trap nor have I access to it... All I know is that I know my team, and I know my boss. That's my job; and for that I'm afraid the safety of the RPE crew is far from ensured.

I hope this answer suffices.

PS: Your communicational skills in English are great. Don't ever apologize for not being a native speaker.

Indeed... Interestingly enough, I was not sure of what Theta had made of you, or how he deal with you when he trapped you inside his mind palace during the RPE.
I knew he'd probably trapped you there because he would never miss an opportunity to test his mind palace, but I did not know it for a fact until now.
The reason I asked you for your dreams is that I cannot help but wonder/fear what you brought back from his mind palace.
